How in-house lab tests work
Lab tests are usually necessary for doctors to see how your body is functioning, fully understand your condition, and recommend the best treatments. When providers send you to a separate lab to get these tests done, it usually means additional hassle and expenses for you. At Phoenix Medical Centers, we have an in-house lab to streamline the process for our patients.
Whether you need blood-work, cell or tissue samples, or urine analysis, we can carry out the tests your doctor orders. We will provide your physician with your results and keep those available in-house as part of your medical history.
Phoenix Medical Centers has a full-service in-house laboratory where patients can get all the necessary lab work without having to go outside our facilities for extra services. Our Doctors, nurses, and lab specialists are going to be working together to make sure you get the best medical attention possible, all in one place.
To get ready for some of these lab tests, you may need to fast for a few hours before taking the test. Others may require you to cease some or all of your medication, and in other cases, you may need to have a full bladder. Our doctors will always let you know all the requirements you will need before taking the lab tests.
Results may take anywhere from hours to days, depending on the lab test. Your doctor will be the first to be notified once the results are ready. Make sure you stay in touch with your doctor and come to your follow-up appointments.
